"Suaznabar's art utilizes a complex languages because he work with several superimposed texts. In its formal aspect his work is low in chromatics-with a tendency toward grey and darks backgrounds and brilliant colours in figures and details, the pictural matter in the work is carefully applied... The work of this artist, seemingly tied with the oneiric world of super-realism, is in reality a conscious construction. Through the use of apocalypse visions expressing the absence of options for the future and utopian myths in which to believe, It shows the pessimism of the turn of the century and the imminent cataclysm of the millennium..." Pedro Querejazu "If there is a common thread running through Marcelo Suaznabar's artwork , It would represent by the appeal to Christian religious values, the concern for the meaning of life the criticism of the corrupt world and the certainly of a fatal irreversible and consequently final punishment... A curious aspect of Suaznabar work is that it embodies both a naive and sarcastic approach when represent issues of a serious nature. Perhaps one of most characteristic aspect of his artwork is the opposition between the seriousness of the issues he deals with and the aesthetic language he uses." Alicia Szmukler
